Who may apply for grants? The Foundation funds organizations classified as tax-exempt under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Individuals and for-profit organizations are not eligible to apply.
Is there a grant application form? How does one go about requesting a grant? The Foundation does not employ a grant application form. Please review our Application Process page for a clear explanation of how to apply for a grant. Are there dollar limits on the amount of a grant? The grant listings on this site should provide an excellent feel for the dollar range of our grant-making. In general, the Foundation does not consider requests for more than $50,000.00. What is the deadline for submitting a grant? All grants must be received in the Foundation's offices no later than September 1. The formal Letter of Inquiry is due August 1st. A grant request will not be considered without prior approval to submit a request. How long is the grant review process? The Trustees meet on or about December 1 and grants are awarded and distributed on or before December 31. Is funding limited to projects within the United States? Yes. Will the Foundation office provide the telephone numbers of individual trustees? No. However, the Foundation does coordinate individual trustee contact with grant applicants. Is the Foundation related or affiliated with the DuPont Company? No. The Foundation is not affiliated with DuPont Company or the company's philanthropic activities.
